France: Syria's Idlib could be government's next target

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has warned of a new, looming humanitarian disaster in Syria. He says the rebel-held province of Idlib is seen as the next possible target of the Syrian government. Held by an array of jihadists and rebels, Idlib province is the last region in Syria largely beyond government control. Le Drian said he hoped Saturday's strikes would convince Russia to pressure Assad into negotiations. The French parliament will debate the French attack on Syria on Monday.

Meanwhile, in Britain, there has been opposition to the strikes on Syria and anger that parliament was not consulted. British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson declared it a success.
