Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the man expected to be Cuba's next president, has promised the new government will be more responsive to its people.

Cubans have been voting to ratify their National Assembly, which will choose a successor to President Raul Castro, in an electoral process that began months ago and will end on April 19th.

The new leader will be the first in almost 60 years from outside the Castro family.
