South Korea: Lucy Vonn captures fans' hearts in emotional interview with dog Lucy

US Olympic team star alpine skier Lindsey Vonn announced her intentions to grab her second Olympic gold medal at what she described would be her 'last Olympics' during a press conference in PyeongChang, Friday.

Vonn missed the 2014 Olympics in Sochi because of an injury and is now eager to represent the US at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games, 'soaking in every moment' like in her very first Olympics in 2002 in Salt Lake City. She confessed that despite the schedule, she would be present at the opening ceremony, the official start of the 23rd Winter Olympic Games.

The US skier could not help but to burst into tears when she was asked about her late grandfather Don Kildow, who passed away late last year. Kildow was stationed in Korea for two years during the Korean War and used to build roads as part of the Army Corps of Engineers. Lindsey Vonn expressed her wish to win for her grandfather, whom she has always credited for her success in skiing.

Another touching moment happened on Vonn's way out of the press-conference room, where her dog Lucy was waiting for her master. Lindsey gave a kiss to Lucy and got one in return. Earlier she had noted that the dog had been travelling with her everywhere and helped her to cope with loneliness after her divorce.
