Poland: 'It was a kidnapping' - Saakashvili following deportation from Ukraine

Former Georgian President and Governor of Odessa Mikheil Saakashvili arrived in Warsaw, Poland, Monday, after having being detained and deported from the Ukraine.

While he expressed his gratitude to the Polish side for their warm welcome, he was quick to call out Kiev for their "outrageous" behaviour saying, "It was a kidnapping, illegal one." He flashed a victory sign saying, "We’ll be fine. We will win that battle," before departing the airport area.

Clashes have broken out in Kiev after Saakashvili’s deportation. The leader of the 'Movement of New Forces' was regarded stateless as he had given up his Georgian citizenship to become a Ukrainian citizen. He was later stripped of his Ukrainian passport after having a fallout with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
