The German Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Christian Social Union (CSU), involved in coalition talks to form Germany’s next government, are expected to wrap up their negotiations in Berlin on Sunday, February 4.

If successful, the talks would create the third so-called grand coalition of major parties led by Angela Merkel since she came to power more than 12 years ago.
