Abandoned church reborn into art center

Once a historic 19th century neighborhood Baptist church, the Blind Whino is now a nonprofit art center in Washington, D.C. Its abstract multicolored exterior and psychedelic art can’t go unnoticed. But beyond the aesthetics, its co-founder Ian Callender says the Blind Whino Southwest Arts Center continues to embody the community spirit the church left behind.
