South Korea: Seoul to discuss N.Korean participation in Pyeongchang Winter Olympics

Head of the South Korean Culture and Arts Policy Office Lee Woo-sung told press that North Korean participation in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics will be discussed during working level talks with North Korea, in Seoul, Monday, before heading to the meeting with Pyongyang in Panmunjom.

Lee stressed that the participation of the North Korean art troupe in the Winter Olympics "has been drawing huge interest and hope domestically and internationally," stating that he hopes "to bring out good results."

On Tuesday, delegates from North and South Korea met in Panmunjom and discussed Pyongyang's possible involvement in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics as well as further ways to improve ties. It was the first round of formal talks to have taken place between the two countries in over two years.
