S. Korean defense chief requests Mongolia's support in handling N. Korea nukes

송영무, 몽골 국방장관과 대담…북핵대응 공조 논의

South Korea's defense minister Song Yong-moo met Thursday with his Mongolian counterpart, Nyamaa Enkhbold, to enhance cooperation to resolve the issue of North Korea's nuclear and missile programs.
According to South Korea's defense ministry, Song asked Enkhbold to take active part in the international community's sanctions on the regime for its illicit weapons development.
Mongolia's diplomatic ties with North Korea go back a long way, so Song asked his counterpart to try and persuade the North to denuclearize.
Enkhbold responded positively and added that Mongolia will continue to work with Seoul on North Korea's threats, which he said jeopardize the peace and stability of the peninsula and the world.
The two ministers also agreed to push for an increase in military partnerships and and cooperation in the defense industry.
